April Monthly Roundup 🌸
ICYMI. The April Roundup — 🖍creative coping, 🫂 feeling our grief, and the exhausting courage it takes to be fully seen (especially in your own body) 🌱
Welcome to The Roundup - a monthly overview (and recap) of all the articles + content we’ve shared this month, plus reminders, updates + curated resources for you to save, download or pass along to someone who needs it!
As therapists we get lots of data that help us see what folks in our direct community are experiencing, how people are interacting with each other (on a micro and macro level), and the topics and issues on the top of people’s minds as they move through the world.
The major themes for this month (across the board) were:
The pressures of wedding season: Whether you’re the one getting married or simply attending loved ones’ nuptials this summer, weddings can be stressful and bring up a lot of complex feelings about relationships, family planning, money, boundaries, etc. etc. Proceed with caution and compassion.
Talking politics can be rough: Dealing with differing political views has never been easy, but right now it may feel like an all but impossible task. Negotiating with folks who have “political views” that erase identities and invalidate the freedoms and humanity of of others is a line we fully support a boundary on. Knowing when to speak up vs. when to keep things to yourself can be tricky, so play these close to the chest and download with the ones you trust the most.
Mother’s Day grief incoming: Whether you have lost a mother or are grieving the relationship of one that is still very much alive (albeit estranged), mother’s day can be an unexpected and overwhelming trigger. Those new to motherhood who are grappling with their new identity, or those dealing with mothers loved and lost — it’s not easy to navigate these rough emotional waves.
Any of the above resonate? Drop your comments, questions and reflections below and tell us what’s on your mind. We gotchu.
